A Simulated Demo Trading Account is a demo trading account that you buy as a digital product. Prices come from the live market, your orders never reach a real exchange, and if you trade the funded stage within the rules you can be paid a reward, in real money, on the simulated profit.
Every account Eiger Funded sells is one of these. There is no live-money tier and no exception, on any of the three programs or any of the five sizes.
Key takeaways
- You are buying software: a digital product, not a financial product, an investment, a deposit or a brokerage service.
- Prices are live; orders are not. Nothing you place reaches a real exchange and no real capital is traded.
- The balance on screen is simulated. You cannot withdraw it, and you never owe anything if it falls.
- Real money moves twice: the fee you pay, and the reward you may be paid on the funded account.
What does the fee pay for?
The home page puts it plainly: the fee pays for the account, the eTrader platform and the software that checks your trades against the rules. The Terms & Conditions say the same thing in legal language: fees are for access to the platform, data and evaluation technology, and they are not deposits or investments.
It is a one-time payment per account, with no subscription. It is sold the way any other software, app or online course is sold, and the Refund Policy treats it that way: the product is delivered in full at checkout, and all sales are final. The only refundable cases are technical billing errors, such as a duplicate charge or a charge with no account delivered.
Because nothing is invested, no money is held for you. Eiger Funded does not keep a balance in your name, and there is nothing in the account to withdraw other than a reward once a payout is approved.
What does "demo" mean in practice?
You trade on eTrader, with prices from the live market. When you click buy or sell, the order is filled on the demo account and never routed to a real exchange. The home page gives this as the reason the account is ready as soon as you pay.
The Risk Disclosure is honest about the limits of that. Simulated pricing, spreads, slippage and execution may differ from live market conditions. A fill you get on the demo account is not proof you would get the same fill on a real market.
The prices are live. The orders are not.
The balance on screen is not your money
Take a €50,000 1-Step Challenge. You pay a one-time fee of €390. The platform then shows a balance of €50,000. That figure is the size of the account; it is what the rules measure against, and it is not money you own or can take out.
The rules turn the balance into limits. While you evaluate, the maximum daily loss is 5% (€2,500 on this size) and the maximum overall drawdown is 12% (€6,000), trailed from the account's peak equity. The profit target is 5%, also €2,500. If equity falls €6,000 below its highest point, the account fails. You owe nothing, because a loss on a demo account is never repayable. What you have spent is the €390 fee.
If instead you pass, a funded €50,000 account opens with tighter limits: 3% daily (€1,500) and 6% overall (€3,000), trailed from peak equity. Once the funded account is at least 10% in profit (€5,000) and meets the other payout conditions, you can request a reward of 80% of that profit, which on €5,000 is €4,000, paid in real money.
Most traders do not make a profit, and results vary. The example shows how the figures relate, nothing more. What you can lose in each program is laid out in the most you can lose.
Where does the real money come in?
Only in two places. You pay the fee at checkout (on Pay After You Pass, part of it at checkout and the rest after you pass). And, on a funded account that meets the payout conditions, you are paid a performance-based reward on simulated profit, under the Terms. The reward is 80% of that profit on every program; the 80% reward article works through it.
Between those two points, everything that happens on the account is simulated: the trades, the balance, the drawdown, the profit.
What Eiger Funded is not
Eiger Funded is operated by THE TRADING COMPANY LLC, registered in Wyoming, United States. The company is not a broker, a broker-dealer or a regulated financial institution, and it holds no financial services licence. The Risk Disclosure gives the reason it does not need one: no client money is held and no real orders are placed.
It also does not give investment advice. Nothing on the site or on this blog tells you what to trade; the articles here explain the rules and the arithmetic behind them.
Why "simulated" shows up in the rules
A few rules only make sense because the account is a demo. Profit made by exploiting outages, feed errors or latency is not honoured. Trading during periods of extreme low liquidity may be reviewed if the execution could not be replicated in live market conditions. And every payout request is checked against the trade history, with profit from prohibited strategies deducted from the payable amount.
The full list is on the trading rules page, and how an evaluation works puts the steps in order.
Frequently asked questions
Is this real money?
No. Every account is a Simulated Demo Trading Account. No real capital is traded and no orders reach a live market. Rewards on the funded account are paid in real money under the Terms & Conditions.
Can I withdraw the account balance?
No. The balance is the simulated size of the account. What can be paid out is the reward, 80% of the simulated profit on a funded account, once a payout request meets every condition.
Is the fee a deposit?
No. The fee pays for the account, the platform and the software that checks trades against the rules. It is not a deposit or an investment, and no money is held for you.
Is there a live-money tier after the funded stage?
No. Every Eiger Funded account is a demo account, with no exception and no live-money tier.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
The Refund Policy says all purchases are final because the account is delivered in full at checkout. The only exception is a technical billing error, such as a duplicate charge.
Read the rules, then pick a program
Every rule that can fail an account is published in full before you pay. Three programs, five sizes, an 80% reward and no time limit on any step.
